Named 'Female Athlete of the Century' by the IAAF in 1999, she set 12 world records across sprinting, hurdles, long jump, and high jump.

Later permitted by the communist government to turn professional in Vienna, he captured the European middleweight title and retired undefeated as a pro (27-0-2).
