Biographical Record
Jason David Frank was born in Covina, California, and began training in martial arts at age four, earning his first black belt at age twelve. In 1993, he auditioned for a proposed 14-episode guest arc on Saban's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as Tommy Oliver, the villainous Green Ranger brainwashed by evil sorceress Rita Repulsa before breaking her spell and joining the heroic Rangers.
Tommy's Dragonzord summoning flute and martial arts prowess made him an instant sensation among children worldwide. Due to overwhelming fan popularity, producers retained him as the new team leader, transforming him into the White Ranger. An 8th-degree black belt in karate and professional MMA fighter who founded his own hybrid martial art Toso Kune Do, Frank remained fiercely devoted to his global fan base at conventions for three decades until his tragic death at age forty-nine.
