Rodolfo Walsh was a master Argentine investigative journalist, fiction writer, and political militant who invented the non-fiction investigative novel with Operaciรณn Masacre (1957) and founded the clandestine news agency ANCLA during Argentina's Dirty War. One day after publishing his historic 'Open Letter from a Writer to the Military Junta' denouncing state terrorism and economic ruin, he was ambushed and murdered by an ESMA death squad in March 1977.
