Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a Pakistani politician who served as President (1971–1973) and Prime Minister (1973–1977). Founder of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), he rebuilt the nation after the 1971 war, authored the democratic 1973 Constitution of Pakistan, launched the national nuclear energy program, and organized the 1974 Islamic Summit before being executed by General Zia-ul-Haq.
