Anton Engelbert 'Toni' Sailer (1935–2009), nicknamed The Blitz from Kitz, was an Austrian skiing phenomenon. At the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo, the 20-year-old Sailer achieved the ultimate alpine sweep, winning gold medals in Downhill, Slalom, and Giant Slalom.
His margin of victory in the Giant Slalom (6.2 seconds) remains the largest in Olympic history. Sailer won seven World Championship titles before retiring at age 23 to pursue successful careers in cinema, music, and sports administration, heading the prestigious Hahnenkamm race committee for two decades.
