Théodore Chassériau (1819–1856 CE) entered Ingres' studio at age eleven, hailed by his master as the future prodigy of painting.

Journeying to Algeria in 1846, he pioneered authentic Orientalism and painted magnificent classical and Shakespearean scenes, including The Two Sisters and Tepidarium.
