Biographical Record
Sri Ramakrishna (1836–1886 CE) served as priest of the Bhavatarini Kali temple at Dakshineswar near Calcutta, experiencing intense ecstasies (bhavas) from early childhood.
He systematically practiced Advaita Vedanta under Totapuri, as well as Islamic prayer and Christian devotion, arriving at the profound realization: 'Joto mot, toto poth' (As many faiths, so many paths).
