Biographical Record

Slimane Dehilès, known nom-de-guerre as Colonel Sadek, was a decorated veteran of the Italian campaign of World War II who dedicated his military expertise entirely to the Algerian liberation struggle. Joining the revolutionary underground in 1954, he brought vital conventional and guerrilla tactics to the ALN maquis.

Appointed commander of Wilaya 4 and later deputy chief of operations on the General Staff (EMG), Colonel Sadek was a fierce advocate of military professionalism and strict adherence to the principles of the Soummam Congress. After independence, he remained a respected voice of democratic conscience and republican values.
