Biographical Record

Ronnie Peterson (1944–1978), known to millions as SuperSwede, was one of the fastest and most naturally gifted drivers Formula One has ever seen. Renowned for his aggressive oversteer drifts and fearless attack, Peterson won 10 Grands Prix driving for March, Lotus, and Tyrrell.

A consummate team player who faithfully supported teammate Mario Andretti in the dominant Lotus 79 during 1978, Peterson tragically succumbed to complications following a multi-car pileup at the start of the 1978 Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
