Biographical Record

René Lecavalier was a towering cultural figure in French Canada. After serving as a war correspondent for Radio-Canada in North Africa and Italy during World War II, Lecavalier was selected in 1952 to be the first television play-by-play announcer for the Montreal Canadiens on La Soirée du hockey.
