Biographical Record

Ascending the throne of Qin at age thirteen, Ying Zheng launched relentless campaigns that brought all rival states under unified autocratic rule. Taking the title "Shi Huangdi" (First Emperor), he dismantled feudalism and established a centralized administrative prefecture system.

He unified Chinese writing characters, weights, measures, and axle widths. His subterranean mausoleum, guarded by thousands of life-sized Terracotta Warriors, remains one of the world's greatest archaeological wonders.
