Biographical Record
Micah lived in the fertile agricultural foothills of southwestern Judah. Unlike Isaiah, who was an aristocrat in the royal court, Micah gave voice to the common peasantry who suffered from exorbitant taxes, corrupt judges who accepted bribes, and rapacious land barons who seized family homes.

Despite witnessing the devastating Assyrian conquest of the Northern Kingdom, Micah looked forward with sublime hope. He envisioned a future age where all peoples would stream to the Mountain of the Lord: 'They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.'
