Jonah / Yunus (Dhu-n-Nun)

Frustrated by the wickedness of the Assyrian capital of Nineveh, Jonah boarded a ship bound for Tarshish. When a storm threatened the vessel, lots were cast, and he was thrown overboard, only to be swallowed by a great whale/fish appointed by divine decree.

From the depths of darkness, he uttered his immortal prayer of surrender: "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers." Returning to Nineveh, his preaching prompted the entire population to don sackcloth and repent, averting destruction.
