"Our Lord! Accept this from us; for Thou art the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing."
Archival Overview
Firstborn son of Abraham and Hagar. Guided by divine providence to the arid valley of Mecca where the Zamzam well miraculously gushed forth; co-erected the Kaaba as the focal shrine of monotheism.
Biographical Record
Left as an infant with his mother Hagar in the uninhabited desert valley of Bakkah (Mecca), his cries catalyzed the spring of Zamzam. Growing into an expert archer and horseman, he married into the Jurhum tribe.
Reunited with his father Abraham, the two raised the foundations of the ancient Kaaba, establishing the rites of the annual pilgrimage (Hajj) and giving rise to the lineage of northern Arab tribes from which Prophet Muhammad emerged.
