Hud (Prophet of 'Ad)

Hud is one of four distinct ancient Arabian prophets named in the Quran. He was sent to his kinsmen, the people of 'Ad—a titanic people known for their immense physical strength and opulent architectural marvels of Iram of the Pillars in southern Arabia.

Confronting Tyranny and Materialism

The civilization of 'Ad succumbed to destructive arrogance, oppressing weaker tribes and boasting, 'Who is greater than us in strength?' Hud walked among their towering palaces, urging them to remember their Creator, forsake cruel tyranny, and distribute wealth equitably. Despite his patient eloquence, the ruling oligarchy rejected his message as delusion.

The Cataclysm & Sanctuary in Hadhramaut

After prolonged drought, a devastating tempestuous wind storm swept the region for seven nights and eight days, burying the corrupt empire beneath the shifting sands. Hud and the small remnant of believers were saved, migrating southward into the fertile valleys of Hadhramaut where his tomb remains an ancient pilgrimage site.
