Biographical Record
Abdelkader Ould Abderrahmane, celebrated under his stage name Kaki, grew up in the historic popular quarter of Tigditt in Mostaganem, steeped in the oral traditions of wandering Meddah storytellers and Sufi religious festivals (Waada).
In 1958, Kaki founded the amateur theater company that created revolutionary masterpieces like 'El Guerrab ouas-Salihine', '132 Years' (1963), and 'Bni Khelboun'. His innovative fusion of poetry, rhythm, traditional costumes, and social satire made Mostaganem a global capital of amateur theatrical art.
