Oliver Reginald Tambo was a South African anti-apartheid politician and lawyer who served as President of the African National Congress (ANC) from 1967 to 1991. Nelson Mandela's law partner and closest brother in arms, Tambo spent three decades in exile leading the international diplomatic, cultural, and economic sanctions campaign that decisively brought down the apartheid regime.
