Andreas Nikolaus 'Niki' Lauda (1949–2019) was an Austrian racing legend whose clinical intelligence, unmatched willpower, and technical precision reshaped professional motorsport. Winning titles with Ferrari in 1975 and 1977, and McLaren in 1984, he remains the only driver to win championships for both storied marques.

After suffering horrific burns and toxic inhalation in a fiery crash at the Nürburgring in 1976, Lauda returned to race just 40 days later at Monza, blood seeping through his bandages, in one of sports history's most heroic displays of courage.
