Archival Overview

One of the greatest playmakers in Moroccan football history, idolized as 'Petchou', who shone with Raja and Wydad Casablanca and played for Morocco in the 1970 FIFA World Cup.

Biographical Record

Mustapha Choukri, nicknamed Petchou, grew up playing street football in Derb Sultan, Casablanca. Endowed with supernatural dribbling skills, vision, and passing accuracy, he led Raja Casablanca to glory before moving to arch-rival Wydad Casablanca, winning the national championship with both clubs.

A key midfield maestro for the Atlas Lions, he represented Morocco at the historic 1970 World Cup in Mexico. In late 1979, he signed with Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia, where he tragically passed away suddenly at age 33 in January 1980.
