Biographical Record
Muhammad al-Baqir (677–733 CE) was the grandson of Husayn ibn Ali who survived the tragedy of Karbala as a four-year-old child.
Taking advantage of the transitional crisis of the Umayyad caliphate, he established an expansive circle of learning in the Prophet's Mosque, teaching theology, exegesis, and legal methodology.
