Biographical Record

Milarepa (1052–1135 CE) turned to sorcery as a youth to avenge family disinheritance before being stricken with remorse and seeking master Marpa.

Submitting to intense penance, he spent decades meditating in snow caves wearing only a white cotton cloth (repa) and subsisting on nettle soup, attaining Buddhahood in one lifetime and composing sublime spiritual songs.
