Biographical Record

Lucas van Leyden (1494–1533 CE) was a child prodigy who produced world-class copperplate engravings before the age of fourteen.

Meeting Dürer in Antwerp in 1521, they exchanged master prints; his landmark triptych The Last Judgment miraculously survived Protestant iconoclasm, celebrated for its brilliant spatial depth and everyday genre figures.
