John Surtees (1934–2017) stands as a peerless figure in the annals of motorsport. Dominating motorcycle racing with MV Agusta in the late 1950s, Surtees won seven Grand Prix motorcycle World Championships (including four consecutive 500cc crowns between 1956 and 1960).

Switching to four wheels, Surtees proved equally extraordinary, capturing the 1964 Formula One World Drivers' Championship with Scuderia Ferrari. To this day, no other human being has achieved the World Championship crown on both two and four wheels.
