James Simon Wallis Hunt

James Hunt (1947–1993), known as Hunt the Shunt early in his career, was a charismatic, swashbuckling British driver who became the quintessential rock-star icon of 1970s Grand Prix racing. Driving for McLaren in 1976, Hunt waged an immortal season-long duel against Niki Lauda.

Clinched under blinding rain at Fuji Speedway in Japan, Hunt's 1976 title victory cemented his sporting legend. Following his retirement from racing, he became a beloved, brutally honest BBC television commentator alongside Murray Walker.
