Biographical Record

Following a spiritual immersion in the Kali Bein river where he disappeared for three days, Nanak emerged declaring: "There is no Hindu, there is no Muslim"—proclaiming direct communion with the One without ritual intermediation.

Accompanied by his Muslim musician companion Mardana, he journeyed to Mecca, Baghdad, Tibet, and Sri Lanka, singing sublime hymns of devotion. Settling at Kartarpur, he instituted ethical householder life based on honest labor (Kirat Karo), sharing (Vand Chhako), and divine remembrance (Naam Japo).
