Biographical Record

Gunnar Nordahl worked as a firefighter in Sweden while scoring prolifically for IFK Norrkoping and the Swedish national team, winning the Olympic gold medal in London in 1948 as tournament top scorer. In 1949, he transferred to AC Milan, becoming Sweden's first professional footballer.

At Milan, he formed the famous 'Gre-No-Li' attacking trident with Gunnar Gren and Nils Liedholm. Nordahl won the Serie A Capocannoniere (top scorer) a record five times, scoring 225 Serie A goals and holding the single-season scoring record of thirty-five goals for sixty-six years.
