Biographical Record

Cyprian of Carthage (c. 210–258 CE) was a wealthy rhetorician who converted to Christianity, gave his estate to the needy, and became Bishop of Carthage in 249.

In De Catholicae Ecclesiae Unitate, he stressed that the church is indivisible and sustained by the mutual concord of its bishops.
