Biographical Record
Robert Marvin "Bobby" Hull was born in Pointe Anne, Ontario. Blessed with blazing skating speed and a thunderous curved-blade slapshot clocked at 119 miles per hour, Hull became the NHL's most magnetic offensive weapon with the Chicago Black Hawks, leading the franchise to the 1961 Stanley Cup.
Hull was the first player in NHL history to score more than fifty goals in a season multiple times, winning two Hart Trophies and three Art Ross Trophies. In 1972, his historic $1-million signing with the Winnipeg Jets legitimized the World Hockey Association (WHA), reshaping North American professional sports economics.
