Biographical Record
Bernardo Bellotto (1722–1780 CE) mastered veduta painting in Canaletto's Venetian studio, adopting his uncle's nickname while traveling north.
Serving as court painter in Dresden, Vienna, and to King Stanisław August Poniatowski in Warsaw, his views possessed such forensic architectural precision that Polish architects used them to faithfully reconstruct Warsaw after its 1944 destruction.
