Biographical Record

Ali Bach Hamba (c. 1876–1918) was educated at the Sadiki College and earned a law degree in Paris. In 1907, with Béchir Sfar and Abdeljelil Zaouche, he founded the Young Tunisian movement to advocate for constitutional reforms, modern education, and civil rights under the French Protectorate.

Bach Hamba founded the bilingual newspaper Le Tunisien in 1907 to expose colonial inequality.
