Biographical Record

Abu Ja'far al-Tahawi (853–933 CE) was originally trained by his maternal uncle, the great Shafi'i scholar al-Muzani, before joining the Hanafi school in Cairo.

His Al-Aqidah al-Tahawiyyah presented a balanced, non-philosophical creed representing the consensual belief of the early pious predecessors (Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah).
