Biographical Record

Abu al-Abbas Ahmad Ibn al-Qadi was captured at sea by Christian privateers in 1586 and spent eleven months in captivity before being ransomed by Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur, who appointed him court historian and judge in Salé and Fez.
