Biographical Record

Ahmad al-Badawi (1199–1276 CE) was born in Fez to a noble Alid lineage, living in Mecca before being spiritually directed to settle in the Nile Delta city of Tanta.

Known as 'Al-Badawi' because he wore the Bedouin veil, he spent forty years in spiritual contemplation and social service, creating an order that mobilized popular resistance against Crusader forces.
